International Festival „Johann Strauss“, the 9th edition


           During the 9th edition of the Johann Strauss International festival, the Cotroceni National Museum, in collaboration with the Romanian Association of Waltz Lovers, have organised on Tuesday, August 24, 7 pm a waltz concert, in the interpretation of the Artmusik quartet, conductor  Iosif Ion Prunener.
           The Artmusik quartet reunites four of the most talented and experienced members of the George Enescu Philarmonics: Marius Biclea -  first violin, Emil Stegar - 2nd violin, Florin Matei - viola, Dan Joitoiu - cello. The four soloists have a generous activity in concerts at home and abroad in Europe, South America and Japan.
           Iosif Ion Prunner has graduated the Dinu Lipatti Highschool and then the Music Academy in Bucharest. After graduation he joined the George Enescu Philarmonics in Bucharest, where he conducted for the Symphonic and chamber Orchestra of the Philarmonics.
           He has collaborated with the National Radio Orchestra and was invited to conduct at the Romanian Opera. He held concerts in Germany, Spain, France, Italy, Japan, Russia, Greece, Hungary, Switzerland, Bulgaria. In 2007 he was invited by the Capitole Orchestra in Toulouse, the Orpheus Choir  - San Sebastian and a number of famous artists to present Verdi’s Requiem in San Sebastian, Toulouse and Paris. In 2003 he was awarded the Cultural Merit Order - knight. The concert included works by Iosif Ivanovici, Gioachino Rossini, Johann Strauss, Johannes Brahms, Frédéric Chopin, Josef Strauss.
